The Energie Coöperatie Oudeschans (ECO) wants to collectively generate renewable energy in the countryside close to our village by means of solar panels. Renewable energy includes green electricity, usually generated by the sun, wind or hydropower.
The goal is to generate about 150,000 kWh per year, sufficient for the annual consumption now and in the near future of the 52 households in our village. We expect that at least 80% of households in Oudeschans and the immediate vicinity will become a member of ECO. By becoming a member you can benefit from a lower price for the energy you use. ECO will supply the generated green power to the Groningen energy company Energie Van Ons. The members of ECO obtain their electricity from Energie Van Ons at a reduced rate through a discount on the energy tax.
